The success of early stage companies depends on capital and access to advice and networks such as what TiE Sponsors and Charter Members offer. TiE’s newest program, TiE Angels, was launched in July 2010. It is an angel investment group formed by Charter Members of TiE Silicon Valley. The mission of TiE Angels is to support top-tier emerging companies with early stage investment and support. TiE Angels have already made investments in 10 companies.
Prashant Shah, Steering Committee, TiE Angels Prashant Shah was most recently Managing Director at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. He joined Hummer Winblad in December 2000. He has been instrumental in many investments including Baynote, Bridgestream, Cenzic, EvoStor, InMage, Jareva Technologies, Krillion, Pancetera, Scalent, SyncVoice, Tizor and Voltage Security. In addition, Prashant is an active Charter Member of TiE Silicon Valley where he is on the Steering Committee of TiE Angels, and was Chair of the Software SIG from 2003 - 2010. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees for Astia (www.astia.org) from 2007 to 2011.
Prior to Hummer Winblad, Prashant spent many years defining and launching high tech products. His background spans all seven layers of the OSI stack with product management roles at enCommerce (acquired by Entrust), Cypress Semiconductor and AT&T.
Prashant received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
