Join GirlVentures at our 2011 EMPOWER! Breakfast Fundraiser as we honor our community and hear about the life-changing experiences of girls who have participated in our outdoor education programs. A strong advocate for girls' empowerment, Jennifer Siebel Newsom will be a compelling voice at our event as our featured guest speaker.
More than 3,500 girls have gone through GirlVentures' programs, which provide safe, fun, and supportive environment for girls to stretch beyond their comfort zone, take risks and come away with experiences that they carry with them through their teenage years into adulthood. Through these outdoor adventures (backpacking, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing), girls from diverse backgrounds build self-confidence and leadership skills. Says one participant, "GirlVentures got me to find a voice I didn't know I had one that allows me to stand up for what I think is right and for myself."
An inspiring highlight of the breakfast will be several GirlVentures' graduates sharing their own poignant stories of friendship, determination and courage.
