Breaking down the barriers of music categorization, this program establishes a dialogue between Schumann’s canonical Piano Quartet and music from important living composers.
Schedule Notes: In addition to pioneer Ellen Taffe Zwilich and rising star Daniel Ludwig, Fifth House will feature winning works from its 2011 Young Composers Competition, challenging composers under 35 to cover rock tunes in a meaningful and musical way. This mix and match style melds perfectly with the experience of uprising and resolution.
From salsa and reggae, to gospel, jazz and classical, the Park District’s Concerts in the Parks series offers Chicago families a fun, affordable way to spend an evening in their own community.
Throughout the year, indoor concerts are held in parks across the city. In the summer, bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor concerts. Regardless of the time of year, prepare to dance and sway the night away at a concert in the parks.
