Celebrate the return of wild Steelhead to the Russian River at our 3 day Festival starting Friday night with the Wild Salmon Dinner at the Villa Chanticleer!
Friday, February 10, 6pm, Villa Chanticleer Join us at the Wild Salmon Dinner at the Villa Chanticleer in Healdsburg. The evening will feature filmmaker Jim Norton, who will be discussing his film "Salmon-Running the Gauntlet", one of the most watched and acclaimed episodes of the PBS Nature series. A silent auction takes place during the evening with fishing rods, reels and gear, a kayak, a weekend in an Airstream, trout paintings, local wines and much more! No host bar. $40 adults, $20 child under 12.
The Festival on Saturday, February 11 is from 10 am to 4 pm, and features free activities in Healdsburg Plaza. Visitors can enjoy 60 educational exhibits, a free trout pond for young anglers, a fly fishing demonstration pond with tips from the pros, displays of fishing gear and boats, art for kids, cooking demos by local chefs,fish-friendly wine tasting, and a live Steelhead display. There also will be live music by the popular and fun Rose Town Ramblers.
On hand with great information will be Trout Unlimited, Sonoma County Water Agency, Russian Riverkeeper, California Department of Fish and Game, Army Corp of Engineers, Sotoyome RCD, NOAA and more. Food from Dry Creek Kitchen, spoonbar, Bobby the Greek, Costeaux Bakery, Chicago Style Hot Dogs, wine from Truett-Hurst, Davis Family Wines, fishing guides, and more. Free admission.
On Sunday, the family fun moves to Lake Sonoma. There will be many activities at the Warm Springs Visitor Center from 11 am to 3 pm. Tours, fish sorting, view the fish ladder, fish maze, Father Nature, Coast Guard and Power Squadron, food and fun! Free admission.
