Info:
Hike or Ride scenic & historic Ridge Trail between Los Gatos & San Jose
Join our newest event to explore the Ridge Trail from Los Gatos to south San Jose! The South Bay Ridge Ramble features outings from 3 to 24 miles. Hike, pedal or trot to enjoy an abundance of wildflowers, spectacular views of Mt. Umunhum & the Sierra Azul, Mt Hamilton & the Diablo Range, rural Almaden and Coyote Valleys, downtown San Jose, San Francisco Bay, (and weather permitting San Francisco, Oakland, Mt. Diablo and Mt Tam too!). Take it easy, or challenge yourself with a climb up 2999 ft high El Sombroso. Learn about the region's mining history, the flooded towns of Lexington & Alma, how far away from it all you can feel within San Jose, and how the Ridge Trail makes this possible.
Registration This is a supported event with rest stops with snacks, lunch, water, route leaders, and maps provided. Hike or ride at your own pace. Hikers & bikers will be transported by bus for a one-way trip, equestrians must arrange their own shuttles. Advance registration is required and attendance is limited, please register promptly.
