It's Back...Kayak Polo! (aka: Houston Water Hockey)
Haven't played before? Two teams of five to ten players paddle kayaks and pass a water polo ball using their hands and paddle. The object of the game is to throw the ball into the goal of the opposing team & to have a whole lot of fun while you are doing it. Players cannot paddle while holding onto the ball. They can only hold the ball for five seconds before they must pass or dribble. While one team passes the ball... Who needs rules?? (you''ll want to know how to roll, wet exit or use an open boat)
Bayou City Outdoors has taken a perfectly good sport - kayak polo, and turned it into and awesomely fun event. We don't have rules, we just get out on the water and have a good time. If you are new or you don't know how to roll your kayak, we'll take it easy on you. If you are an experienced paddler, well... everything is fair in love and kayak polo.
If you are joining us for the SUP Lessons earlier in the day stick around and play. We should have some extra boats and equipment for you to try out. Or, you can just watch. It makes for a enjoyable spectator (and heckler) sport. Please RSVP at www.BayouCityOutdoors.com (calendar) so we know how many boats to bring!
