Root Cause Analysis (RCA) first entered the lexicon of HR through the field of occupational safety and health. Now a common investigatory tool for identifying the underlying causes of why an accident or near miss occurred, RCA presents a universal method for identifying and preventing any organizational problem - including those involving HR issues.
Find out how RCA can be used, for example, to explain why a particular facility has experienced several harassment claims, or why a high rate of employee error takes place despite adding training programs and conducting regular performance reviews. You'll also learn how to:
* Identify the different options for conducting RCA * Avoid the misuse of RCA - potentially resulting in substantial liability * Examine the pros and cons of using RCA * Explore a promising development - the use of root systems solutions analysis (RSS)
