“FROM A WOMEN’S PERSPECTIVE” 5th ANNUAL CONFERENCE

March 18, 2011 - Celebrating Women’s History Month

ATLANTA, GEORGIA- Join the Women’s Employment Opportunity Project (WEOP), Atlanta Technical College 5th annual “From a Woman’s Perspective” symposium in celebration of Women’s History Month. More than 200 women and men are expected to attend the event on Friday, March 18, 2011 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Atlanta Technical College, Dennard Conference Center, 1560 Metropolitan Parkway, SW, Atlanta, GA. The theme for the symposium:

Dare To Dream: Leadership, Economics, & Empowerment

During the Luncheon attendees will have an exciting opportunity to view an in-depth interview with Jocelyn Dorsey, Host of “People 2 People” television show. Ms Dorsey exemplifies the role of women as a Leader and trailblazer with numerous accomplishments. Ms. Myrna Moore, Producer, will be conducting this gripping interview to give the audience an exciting perspective of Ms. Dorsey and her accomplishments as “The First”. WEOP is honored to present our
1st Annual Women Pioneers Award to Ms. Jocelyn Dorsey.

The day also features an exciting line up of speakers featuring: Paulette Lewis from the Department of Labor Women’s Division, Debra Respress, Your Best You, LLC, and Melvin Anderson, author of Women Front & Center. Speakers will cover topics such as 21st Century Opportunities, Seven Creative Life Strategies, and Hidden Beauty of Women.

The afternoon session features roundtable discussions hosted by women leaders on a range of topics. A sample of the roundtable experts includes Tonya Hicks, Power Solutions, Inc., providing insight on non-traditional career opportunities, Tina Douglas, CBS Radio, approaching issues of women and media branding, Kristy Offitt, Attorney, speaking on legal strategies for business and Charlotte Johnson, U.S. Small Business Administration providing the group with information and resources for entrepreneurs.
