On September 2nd, Spoken Funk will make its transition from the trendy and upscale Aqua Lounge in Beverly Hills to the beautiful 400 seat Nate Holden Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles for their 'Who's Working Monday' Labor Day show. Spoken Funk is quickly becoming one of Southern California’s “hot spots,” the place to be and be seen. At any given show one can find themselves in the company of Stevie Wonder, Shawn Wayans, Tony Rock, Stan Lathan, Wood Harris, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Saul Williams and other A – List celebrities. Spoken Funk took Southern California by storm in 2006 and continues to elevate in stature in 2007. With returning acts such as TONY AWARD WINNING poets, Mayda Del Valle, Georgia Me, and Beau Sia, as well as comics, Tony Rock, A.J Jamal, andd Rodman, already set to burn the Spoken Funk stage again, artists new to the “Funk House” will hold their own as well. An open mic opens the show to give all a chance to shine, and Tony Award winning host and creator of Spoken Funk, Poetri infuses the show with insightful poetry and gut busting laughter.
