Org Synopsis 

The UNM Foundation’s mission is to increase private gifts for the University of New Mexico (UNM) by developing long-term relationships with donors and matching their interests with the University’s priorities, creating unique opportunities for our students, faculty and alumni.

UNM represents a wide cross-section of cultures and backgrounds. UNM is designated among the nation’s top research universities, as a Carnegie-classified “Very High Research Institution.” UNM is the only such designated research university with a highly diverse student population, and prides itself on the access and affordability still offered to its undergraduate and graduate students. The campuses of UNM serve more than 32,000 students employ 3,200 faculty, and 7,000 staff (an additional 4,400 staff work at University Hospital). UNM has more than 141,000 alumni, with Lobos in every state, several U.S. territories and in more than 90 countries.

The UNM Foundation is located in Albuquerque against a backdrop of the ancient Sandia Mountains and an endless, timeless blue sky. Residents enjoy 310 days of sunshine each year and limitless outdoor activities. One of the oldest cities in the U.S., Albuquerque boasts a unique multicultural heritage and history where Native American, Hispanic & Latino, Anglo and other cultural influences are a part of everyday life. Albuquerque is also home to the largest International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. The Albuquerque metropolitan area has a population of 835,000 and is ranked as one of the best places to live and work in the United States.
