Virtuoso mandolin player Chris Thile, of the popular bluegrass band Nickel Creek (and more recently the Punch Brothers), joins with equally talented double-bass player Edgar Meyer for an all-instrumental evening of works the two have composed together, as well as arrangements of pieces by J.S. Bach.
This special concert is presented by San Francisco Performances.
At 27, Thile is one of the most inventive musicians of his generation, who has taken bluegrass music to new heights. Grammy Award-winner Meyer is at equally at home with classical and bluegrass music and has collaborated with everyone from cellist Yo-Yo Ma to Indian tabla master Zakir Hussain.
