Project: Grain of Sand
A Memoriam to Over 30 Million Americans of African Descendants and Africans Who Succumbed during the Institution of Slavery

African American Diversity Cultural Center Hawaii (AADCCH), Honolulu, Hawaii is launching a worldwide campaign to honor our African ancestors with a “Sand Holocaust Memorial� created with grains of sand sent from around the world to honor and memorialize more than 30 million people of African descent who died in the continent of Africa and those crossing the middle passage, in South American, Brazil, Caribbean Islands and the United States. The bones of our ancestors have been fossilized at the bottom of the ocean, rivers, ditches, and unmarked graves throughout the world.

We are inviting people of the universe to participate in project One Grain of Sand�. School children can participate, community groups, organizations, and churches. Your dollars are also welcome to build the Sand Holocaust Memorial on the grounds of the African American Diversity Cultural Center Hawaii near Pearl Harbor.

The institution of slavery was a horrendous inhumane conscious event. The healing process must begin NOW, the 21st century.
