Directs the maintenance and building of sidewalks and oversees pile driving Drives and operates Public Works vehicles and equipment as needed. Reviews and verifies reports regarding type of work performed by crews, materials used and sick/vacation records. Responsible for crew adhering to applicable quality and safety standards. Assists higher level supervisors with the scheduling of employees and equipment/supplies to maximize cost savings and efficiency. Provide hands-on training to employee labor crews in the proper use and operation of all equipment utilized under supervision of incumbent. Skill in the use of equipment and common hand tools. Ability to provide training to employee labor crews on current codes, ordinances, and statutes. Ability to operate all machinery utilized under supervision of incumbent. Ability to provide training to employee labor crews in the proper use and operation of equipment. Ability to effectively supervise and coordinate the activities of employee work crews. Ability to communicate effectively and transmit as well as follow oral and written instructions.
