We are looking for candidates who can provide strong customer service, manage a varied workload, and understand trauma-informed care. Occupancy Specialists will help implement the Rental Assistance Programs, which currently serve over 2,500 households in Clackamas County and continues expanding services. The Occupancy Specialist is the housing case manager responsible for eligibility review, rent calculation, providing customer service, supporting services, resources, compliance, and other aspects of human services. An ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively manage a large and varied caseload of clients and responsibilities and shows a strong commitment to public service. They will also be problem solver who utilizes critical thinking skills when faced with difficult scenarios presented by prospective participants, community partners, and/or inter-agency partnerships. Incumbents in this classification use significant judgment in interpreting and applying regulations and guidelines, department policies, and precedents to specific cases or problems. Incumbents specialize in interviewing clients and perform initial and ongoing participant eligibility determinations for assigned programs.
