•EVERY DAY in the US 100 people die from an accidental drug overdose. •In Illinois, more people die from accidental drug overdoses than motor vehicle crashes. •Opiate overdose is REVERSIBLE thousands of lives are saved each year from the existence of 911 Good Samaritan Laws and the use of the opiate overdose antidote, Naloxone/narcan. Please join us to:
•Remember those we have lost to overdose •Honor those who have displayed courage by talking about the impact overdose has had on their lives and on their communities •Raise awareness about the opioid epidemics (prescription pain pills and heroin) •Meet others who have been affected by the Illinois overdose crisis •Work to provide effective lifesaving solutions •Ask community leaders and stakeholders to pursue overdose prevention strategies in EVERY community across Illinois •End overdose by 2022
