The story begins in 1996 in an inner-city housing project in Baltimore.David, a 10-year old is struggling to hold on to a close relationship with his mother, Mabel. Sammy, David's father, left him and his mother and David is having difficulty understanding why people who love each other don't stay together.
David's grandfather tells him the story of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba Nubian Love Affair, David begins to dream. As the audience experiences the dream, we are theatrically transported to the year 976 B.C. At the end of the dream we are returned to 1996 and the issues that exist between David, Mabel and Sammy, are resolved.
