Charles Weissmann, M.D., Ph.D., will be the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology’s seminar speaker on Friday, October 28 at noon in the Rosenstiel Medical Sciences Building fourth-floor auditorium. Dr. Weissmann is currently professor and head of the Department of Infectology at Scripps Florida, which he recently joined after a distinguished career in Zurich and London. He is noted for his contributions to the first cloning of alpha-interferon genes, the elucidation of the life cycle of bacteriophages, the development of site-directed mutagenesis and the regulation of red blood cell components
