Big Bottom Market proudly presents Winemaker Thursday! Meghan Ainsworth of Lynmar Estate on September 15, 2011, 6-8 PM.
Lynmar Estate at Quail Hill Vineyard is a small family-owned estate specializing in Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Fritz Family purchased the Quail Hill Vineyard in 1980, and founded Lynmar Winery in 1990 to showcase the uniqueness of the estate's Quail Hill Vineyard and the Russian River Valley. The wines were first commercially released in 1996 with the 1994 vintages of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In 2004, the winery launched a five-year investment plan to complete a phased replanting of Quail Hill Vineyard and build a state-of-the-art gravity flow winery and a beautiful hospitality center. Lynmar Estate, is a 100-acre estate, with 47 acres of prime vineyard located in the Laguna Ridge area of the Russian River Valley. Long recognized as a gem in the appellation, the vineyard possesses superb qualities for growing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The combination of the vineyard's location, soil composition, long and cool growing season, dramatic elevation changes, and clone and rootstock selections makes this a prized vineyard one that has been a source for some of the top Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers in the Russian River Valley.
Big Bottom Market is proud to carry Lynmar's 2008 Russian River Chardonnay. Come taste this amazing wine along with the 2008 Russian River Pinot Noir, both were highly recognized by wine critics and publications this year.
