      The Metro Employers of Atlanta (MEA) 
      sponsored Adopt-a-Student Program is a mentoring program for high 
      school juniors currently enrolled in the Atlanta Public School (APS) 
      System.  Since 1965, 
      MEA, a 501c(3) non-profit association of employers, has partnered with 
      students in preparing them for workplace opportunities and assisting in 
      their development of competitive work and social standards.  The MEA 
      Advisory Council is currently chaired by Mr. Robert Jackson, 
      General Manager, AT&T Corporation. 
        
      The current list of confirmed “Prominent 
      and Distinguished Elected Officials, Leaders, Media Personalities, and 
      Celebrities” that will be present to address the students and answer their 
      questions at this third annual forum, presented

      The primary target audience and focus of this forum will be  AASP program participants, who are 11th grade students 
      attending one of the ten APS High Schools located within the inner city.  
      These students will be joined by their mentors, along with program staff 
      and board members.   This forum is open to ALL Metro Area 
      residents, especially students 
      interested in meeting and hearing from this distinguished group of 
      leaders.  Other audience members may include parents, school counselors, 
      teachers and other program supporters.   
        
      The purpose of this forum is to allow APS high school students and 
      other students to meet, listen to and learn from; and have firsthand 
      interactive dialogue with some of 
      Atlanta’s most prominent, 
      respected, accomplished and distinguished persons.   The goals of this 
      forum are for participants to share their insight, wisdom, experiences and 
      encouragement, while answering questions or addressing issues of relevance 
      and importance to the students.
