Position Focus: Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Finance and Administration, the Senior Administrative Assistant (SAA) provides support for both the Director and Associate Director of The Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies, the Director & Assistant Director of Finance & Administration, Financial Assistant and Associate Communications Officer. This position manages administrative support, events, travel arrangements, summer undergraduate housing, and will also take part in other projects and new initiatives in the institute. Working collaboratively as part of a team, the SAA works with colleagues in and across the Institute, other University departments, students, faculty, and external advisory board members. The SAA handles confidential information, balances ongoing workflow with time-sensitive and emergent situations, and triages escalation.

Principal Responsibilities:

The DIS role is to identify, locate, notify, and refer for examination and/or treatment to persons infected or at risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections; to collaborate with medical providers, and navigate health care systems to ensure patient evaluation and treatment; and to do other work as required. The DIS role is responsible for identifying and obtaining treatment for carriers of infectious disease and their identified contacts with a focus on sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV. The DIS conducts case investigations, including but not limited to office and field work investigation and provides consultation and guidance to community healthcare providers regarding current STI/HIV testing and treatment guidelines. Successful candidates will have expertise in essential skills such as communication, interviewing, counseling, case analysis, and provider and community engagement.
