As an Attorney-Adviser, you will be responsible for:
Providing legal and interpretive guidance on examinations, investigations, and proposed enforcement actions, particularly with respect to issues under the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act. Reviewing memos recommending that the Commission take enforcement actions that implicate investment advisers, investment companies and private funds. Researching and analyzing the legal issues raised by the matters reviewed and drafting substantive legal documents including comments on recommendation memos. Acting as a liaison between staff in the Division of Enforcement, Division of Examinations, and other Divisions and Offices and staff in the Division of Investment Management to facilitate access to relevant expertise. Reviewing new or amended investment adviser registration forms to identify disciplinary events that might warrant enforcement action. Reviewing requests for defendants or respondents that advise or underwrite specialized investment companies seeking relief from automatic disqualifications that are triggered by enforcement actions. NEIWPCC is seeking a full-time Environmental Analyst to collaborate with municipal stakeholders and community leaders to develop and implement plans to protect drinking water sources throughout the Capital Region of New York state.
What You’ll Do
As a NEIWPCC Environmental Analyst and an essential member of the Drinking Water Source Protection Program (DWSP2), you will:
Work with municipal leaders, water operators, consultants, local health departments and other community stakeholders to develop DWSP2 plans and provide technical assistance during plan implementation.
Collect, analyze, and maintain environmental data to inform recommendations and prepare technical documentation for a variety of stakeholders and for external outreach.
Utilize GIS to create community maps and will be a resource to for questions related to sources of drinking water and locations of possible contamination.
Assist with other tasks related to water supply protection, such as water quality sampling, database management, data analysis, performing sanitary surveys or capacity assessments for public water systems.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a passion and interest in preserving and advancing water quality. Ideally the candidate will have:
A degree in environmental sciences or related field
Knowledge of and experience with aspects of drinking water quality programs, state/federal regulations, watershed management
Experience collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders in implementing environmental programs.
