WOMEN FOR POSITIVE COMMUNICATION is an efficient, financially sound IRS- designated 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1982, our agency has always met each annual campaign goal with honor and pride. Our 2008 goals have been met. Annually we have over 44 volunteers who work diligently to ensure that funds are raised. The funding raised supports our budget which disburses funds to our main program. The purpose of WPC is to promote the health and welfare of the community by WPC emphasizing our main objective to provide “care packages and community outreach services donating food and care baskets to low-income families. Women for Positive Communication is located in Santa Clara County we provided services to Santa Clara County, Alameda County, San Francisco County and the San Francisco, East Bay and South Bay Areas. MISSION STATEMENT: "Women for Positive Communication (WPC) is a nonprofit community based service organization. WPC accomplishes this goal by hosting annual fundraising events and securing grants from corporations and other organizations. WPC strives to be a positive influence in a diverse community". Women for Positive Communication (WPC) volunteer members both male and female, give back to our community by providing community outreach programs, scholarships, and by partnering with other Bay Area Community based organizations to help make a difference. WPC considers its members to be a distinguished group of highly motivated and highly energized individuals who diligently volunteer their time, energy, and services to make a difference in their community. Women for Positive Communication (WPC) collaborate with multiple community partners to maximize our use of grant funds through coordination of services to our targeted population. A few of the community partners are: Tabia Theater Ensemble, Select Men Group, Eta Sigma Lambda Chapter, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. South Bay Nurses Association, the Betty Boop Breast Cancer Three Day Walkers, and the National Association of Engineers WPC is a non profit 501 (c ) (3). Tax ID located on our website.  NORTHERN VOLUNTEERS GROUP (Ghana, West Africa)

PROFILE OF NORTHERN VOLUNTEERS GROUP (NVG) Northern Volunteers Group (NVG) is a non profit volunteer’s organization based in Tamale, city in the northern part of Ghana. The organization is non partisan, non tribal, non religious which is duly registered with registration number G.22, 088 under the confine law f Ghana. We seek to maintain a well balance between adults, children and the disable people. We do this by providing and supporting them with sound opportunities so as to better their lives. Our organization is made of members of the community and international volunteers who are in depth with voluntary ideas and willing to contribute their quota to the development and training of our people in the region, which is considered to be less developing in terms f education as well as been a poverty region.

 Silence the Violence

Silence the Violence (STV) is a 501(c)(3) committed to empowering teens through music, art, sports, and technology to create positive change, embrace diversity and promote tolerance and harmony. STV provides teens access to programs that build self-esteem, promote awareness, build on their creativity and practice non-violence. We give teens a voice to address the issues they care about and help them find solutions to their problems. STV’s teen advisory board, H.U.S.H. (Heightening Unity and Support Toward Harmony), gives teens the chance to get involved by voicing their opinions and thoughts on youth violence in their communities and schools, and what they can do to create change. STV believes that through creative outlets we can attack youth violence head on, giving teens the tools they need to grow into successful role models and leaders. We are passionate about joining the fight against youth violence and we encourage everyone to take a stand in saving our children’s lives.

 United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNAUSA)

The United Nations Association of the United States of America is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to building understanding of and support for the ideals and vital work of the United Nations among the American people. Its educational and humanitarian campaigns, including teaching students in urban schools, clearing minefields and providing school-based support for children living in HIV/AIDS-affected communities in Africa, allow people to make a global impact at the local level. In addition, its policy and advocacy programs stress the importance of nations working together and the need for United States leadership in the United Nations. The association is affiliated with the World Federation of United Nations Associations.

 United Nations Association of Greater Miami Young Professionals for International Cooperation

YPIC is a program of UNA USA (United Nations Association) which is a member of the World Federation of UNAs. YPIC provides a unique forum for staying informed on global issues, networking with other 'fabulous' young professionals, partnering with local and international organizations on a broad diversity of events and projects and being on the cutting-edge for professional and leadership development. Our members are typically between the ages of 21 to 40 and come from diverse backgrounds.

 Unwed Mothers of Illinois, Inc.

Unwed Mothers of Illinois, Inc. is a humanitarian agency promoting personal growth and community development. We offer a variety of aid to single mothers, youth, and underserved communities through counseling, workshops, and emergency assistance. Client Services: Comprehensive Counseling offered for families, individuals, and youth. Support Group a resource for substance abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse, and parenting. Gifts-In-Kind donates hygiene products, household items, school supplies, non-perishable foods, and clothes. Workshops promote awareness and prevention on issues affecting daily lives. Community Events bring fun, music, games, free meals, and free medical checkups. Emergency Assistance Hot Line: Crisis Response Team services include counseling, shelter referrals, and disasters. Teen Pregnancy Prevention:Young people need to be told the truth—why it is important to develop healthy relationships that are based on friendship rather than physical attraction.

 Special Needs Network, Inc.

Special Needs Network, Inc. (SNN) is a non-profit, community-based organization founded to respond to the needs in the underserved segment of the special needs population, primarily as it relates to autism. SNN was founded and is led by Donna Ross-Jones and Areva D. Martin, Esq., two mothers of sons with developmental disabilities. Ms. Jones is President and CEO of Transition Music Corporation and Areva D. Martin, Esq., a Harvard Law School graduate, is founder and Managing Partner of Martin & Martin, LLP.

 Scientology Volunteer Ministers

The Scientology Volunteer Minister Program is a worldwide grass-roots movement open to anyone who recognizes the world needs to change and who wants to make a difference. The Volunteer Ministers have become a major disaster response force over the past two decades. Since 9/11 2001 New York, our numbers have doubled, redoubled and doubled again. Now 60,000 strong, and spanning all continents, in the past year alone we have provided nearly 3,000,000 hours of real help to over 1,500,000 people. Our motto is “Something can be done about it.”

 100 Black Men of Atlanta

The 100 Black Men of Atlanta is now one of 103 chapters across the United States, the United Kingdom, the Bahamas, Africa and Jamaica. Together these chapters make up the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. which is also built on the tradition of self-help and is a permanent fixture in the African-American experience as well as a key factor in the Black community's survival in an often oppressive society.

Each chapter of 100 Black Men sponsors educational and economic development, mentoring, health & wellness and other community initiatives that focus on and address specific local and/or regional concerns.

 Young Essence Ladies...Learning(Y.E.L.L.)

A network of women coming together to mentor young girls between 12-19 years of age offering advise and support based on their common interest or career desire of themelves and the young lady. Meetings are once a month with contacts(by phone and/or email twice a month.

 Latin American Association

The Latin American Association is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive transitional services for Latinos as they strive for self-sufficiency and an enhanced quality of life. By responding to our community’s basic needs, we help its members gain knowledge and skills necessary to fully participate in the larger community. Since its inception, the Latin American Association has been meeting needs and building futures by providing programs and services that make a difference in the lives of Latinos in their families, neighborhoods and the larger community. The Latin American Association takes an integrated approach to providing services and programs that are focused on increasing family stability, building skills, promoting the development of our youth, and promoting community involvement.

 Mocha Sisters Organization, Inc. ™

Mocha Sisters Organization, Inc. ™ (MSO, pronounced "M-So") is a non-profit organization, with a mission to promote sisterhood, knowledge, integrity, community awareness, unity, and to learn how to network with powerful and innovative women of color. Mocha Sisters Organization, Inc. ™ will partner with organizations that will help promote the awareness of women of color including health, wellness, business etiquette, and much more. Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach. Our motto for MSO is “The chance of a lifetime volunteering through Mocha Sisters.” Our theme for 2005-2006 is “uniting to change and changing to impact.”

 Genesis Transitional Housing Ministries, Inc.

GTHM, Inc. has developed a program suited for the homeless in New York City and the surrounding boroughs. This program will focus on men and women, who will be allowed to recieve counseling, drug and alcohol abuse intervention, relapse prevention sessions, education, job training and general life skills.

 Atlanta Public Schools Adopt-a-Student Mentoring & Motivational Programs

"Partnering with students in preparing them for workplace opportunities and assisting in their development of competitive work and social standards." Adopt-A-Student Program: One-to-One Mentoring Program; Began in 1982; Engages High School Juniors Through Graduation; Up to 300 Students Participate Annually. Youth Motivation Day: Annual Program; First Held in November 1966; Over 14,000 Motivators Since Program Inception.

 The Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes Foundation

The mission of The Lisa Lopes Foundation, Inc. (LLF) is to provide access to basic Health, Education, Self-Awareness and Recreational Programs to children living in low-income communities within the United States and underdeveloped communities within Central America. LLF plans to transform communities by establishing and supporting high quality community based programs.

 Atlanta Urban League Young Professionals (AULYP)

The AULYP is comprised of young professionals across metro Atlanta who are dedicated to serving their local communities through social and community activism. AULYP strives to engage these professionals in the Atlanta Urban League's movement towards the achievement of social and economic equality.
