Delta Tau Lambda is a community-oriented sorority. Our main objectives are academic excellence and community service. We strive to bring about change in the Latino community as well as in other communities of color. A great deal of our work involves the youth, for we believe that they are our future and we their role models. We believe that through our hard work, we will empower others to achieve for themselves and lead one another to greatness.

Lambda Pi Upsilon Sorority Latinas Poderosas Unidas, Inc. was founded by "Six Pillars of Strength" at the State University at Geneseo on November 6, 1992. We set the standard for excellence in community advocacy and cultural awareness through our total commitment to inspire, empower and support each other. Our ultimate objective is to accentuate leadership qualities and further utilize them in future endeavors. It is imperative to persevere and maintain the execution of our Founding Principles - Education, Family, Advancement, Exposure, Learning and Motivation. This is evident through our continued efforts to participate within numerous community activities and interactions. All of our actions are done Con Amor, Dignidad Y Orgullo.

The purpose of Lambda Theta Alpha is to provide a sisterhood based on Unity, Love, & Respect. To develop strong Leaders who will then provide and practice political, social and cultural activities. To promote Latino Unity through charitable and educational programs. To maintain a high standard of learning and serve as a voice for all Latino students. Goals: Scholarly excellence, empowerment of Latinas and the universal woman, cultural and political awareness, and community activism.

Since its founding in 1906, Alpha Phi Alpha has supplied voice and vision to the struggle of African-Americans and people of color around the world. Since 1920, the Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity has worked to uplift African-Americans in Atlanta.
