MPN Question: Tell us about yourself, your professional skills, and how you got started publishing your book.

I am the Vice President of Marketing for an Atlanta based consulting engineering firm.  After completing my novel, and trying the route of finding a reputable agent to represent me, a friend suggested that I approach the publishers directly. With his assistance, that is exactly what I did. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from a Publisher indicating an interest in my novel.  The flew into Atlanta to meet me and by the end of the meeting she made an offer to acquire the book.

MPN Question: What were some of the hurdles you faced in launching your publishing career?

I think the biggest hurdle is to maintain your faith and know that if it is God's will nothing can prevent you from attaining your goal. I am a single parent of three and it was a challenge to make time to write, so I began to schedule time in my  evenings exclusively to write. Generally, this was after I put the kids to bed.

MPN Question: How successful have you been, and what has been the key to your success?

I consider myself a success because I have overcome tremendous odds to be at the point in my writing career that I am.  I am currently at work on my second novel.  The key to my success has been to put God first in my life, family second, and the desires of my heart third....as a result it is all coming together.

MPN Question: What are your target markets?

Reaching Back is for all people who are looking for the courage to face the future or unknown. Lessons of life are imparted in a realistic, yet entertaining manner.

MPN Question: How do you serve your target markets better than other authors of your type?

I make a personal connection with my readers by recognizing through the experiences of my characters that in life we all face trials.  Through the growth of each character, the reader can reflect and relate to where they are in life, and find opportunities for self-motivation and self-development.

MPN Question: What general lessons have you learned that can be applied to any professional, even one in a different product category?

If you can focus on your dreams and look past the obstacles you can achieve your hearts desire.

MPN Question: How can potential new customers contact you?
