Atlanta artist Corey Barksdale finds inspiration in the richness of his African-American heritage and in his love for the vibes of urban life, dynamic themes that he explores in his art. Whether working in his studio or live to the beat of music, Barksdale explores these artistic convictions, linking them with his celebration of human relationships. Corey has won awards for his art and has been featured in Art Trends magazine and in Atlanta Performs. He designed the book cover for Steppin’ Out, an entertainment guide, and a CD cover for Commission. In addition, the CowParade of Atlanta 2003 selected Corey’s design for a CowParade cow, which he painted live during the recent Atlanta Jazz Festival May 24-26.
