This annual event provides members of the Opera’s Young Artist Studio with an opportunity to perform outstanding scenes from great operas, and members of the audience to experience scenes from eight different operas in under two hours. Members of the Young Artist Studio will perform staged scenes from Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Massenet’s Don Quichotte, Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers, Bellini’s Norma, Verdi’s Rigoletto and Don Carlo, Chabrier’s Le roi malgré lui, and Leonard Bernstein’s Candide. In addition to performances by current members of the Young Artist Studio, former Young Artist Leah Partridge, star of this season’s Lucia di Lammermoor and last season’s La traviata, will make a guest appearance, performing in support of the program and this year’s Young Artists.
