This is a festival that celebrates the heritage of Castroville, promotes a positive image, and creates a sense of community spirit, while highlighting the many venues in our beautiful city. The event will begin with a carnival. The main festival will commence with a ribbon-cutting by the Castroville May Days Queen in Houston Square, followed by a 5K Fun Run in Castroville Regional Park. Other activities include a cook-off (Sausage, BBQ and Sweets), Historical dancers, Music, Family activities, Food, Texas Film Festival, Petting Zoo, Open Air Market, Classic car show, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, Buffalo Soldiers Encampment, Jolly Trolley, Face Painting, Square dancing in the streets, Swimming, and more.
