Info:
California's lingering and pervasive air pollution coupled with the continual increases in the state's electricity demand positions the state in a conundrum of providing additional energy while not exacerbating the air quality of the region. By providing improved research, tools, and innovative techniques, the Public Interest Energy Research Environmental Area (PIER-EA) at the California Energy Commission is working to achieve clean air while providing reliable, affordable and efficient electricity. In addition to the Energy Commission's efforts, the Calfornia Air Resources Board (ARB), local air districts, and non-profit environmental organizations also fund research dedicated to improving the state of science and knowledge of California's air quality and identifying avenues for attaining clean air
